What is Route Simplified?

An overview of how Route Simplified works and who uses it.

Route Simplified is a web-based scheduling tool built for companies that collect liquids or materials from customer locations on a recurring basis. Instead of visiting customers on a fixed interval — every X days or weeks regardless of need — Route Simplified builds routes around locations that are actually due for service.

Scheduling is driven by two data points for each customer location (called a generator):

  • Capacity — the total volume the container can hold
  • Fill rate — how quickly the container fills up

Route Simplified uses these values, along with the date and volume of the last service, to estimate how full each container is today and project when it will next be due. Routes are built from that predicted need, not from a calendar.

Who uses it

There are typically three roles in Route Simplified:

  • Scheduler — builds the daily route on a desktop browser, selects stops, sets the order, and publishes the route to the driver
  • Manager — monitors route activity, reviews completed routes, and oversees data quality across generator records
  • Driver — receives the route via email, runs it through the mobile browser on their phone, and logs a result at every stop

How you access it

  • Schedulers and managers: Desktop browser at app.routesimplified.com
  • Drivers: Mobile browser (the route link is emailed to you when a route is published)
