Setting Up an Offload Stop

When and how to add an offload facility as a stop on a route.

An offload is the facility where the driver unloads collected material at the end of the day. How you handle the offload in Route Simplified depends on whether it's at the same location as your depot.

If the offload is at your depot

No action needed in Route Simplified. The driver simply returns to the depot at the end of the route and the offload is not added as a separate stop.

If the offload is at a separate location

Add the offload facility as a customer/generator record in Route Simplified. When setting it up:

  • Name — use a clear naming convention so it's easily identifiable (e.g., "Offload - [Location Name]")
  • Do not set a capacity — the offload is a destination, not a tank. Giving it a capacity will create scheduling errors.

When adding the offload to the route:

  • Lock it as the last stop — the driver goes there after completing all collection stops

Driver instructions for the offload stop

When the driver arrives at the offload, they should complete the stop with 0 gallons collected. This records the stop in the route log without adding to the day's collection total.
