Route Simplified Glossary
Definitions for the key terms used in Route Simplified.
Generator
A customer location that produces material for collection. The core unit of work in Route Simplified. The system also uses the label "Customer" — they mean the same thing.
Route
A single day's schedule — the ordered list of generator stops assigned to a driver and vehicle.
Capacity
The total volume a generator's container can hold. Used to calculate how full the tank is and when it will next be due.
Fill rate
The volume of material a generator produces per month. Combined with capacity, it tells the system when the container will be full enough to schedule a pickup.
Fill level
The estimated current volume in the container. Calculated from the last service date, the gallons left at that service, and the fill rate.
Due date
The date the system projects a generator's container will reach the service threshold.
Disposition
The outcome recorded at each stop: Complete with gallons, Complete with zero gallons, or Skip. Every stop on a route requires a disposition before the route can be finished.
Offload
The facility where a driver unloads collected material at the end of a route. Added to the route as a stop when the offload is not at the same location as the depot.
Depot
The starting and ending location for the route — typically the branch or home base.
NOC
New customer — a generator being added to the system for the first time.
Tags
Labels applied to generators in Route Simplified to organize them by territory, service type, or other grouping. Used to filter the map and customer list.
Draft
A route that has been created but not yet published to the driver.
Scheduled
A route that has been published — the driver has been assigned and will receive an email notification.
Overdue
A generator whose projected due date has passed without a completed service. Often indicates a data issue (missing capacity or fill rate) rather than a true service emergency.
