Managing Generator Data

What to update, when, and how — keeping generator records accurate over time.

Route Simplified only schedules accurately when capacity and fill rate are correct. Treat data corrections as part of the daily workflow, not a separate cleanup project.

Capacity looks wrong Fix it on the generator's Oil tab. Set the value to the actual physical size of the container. Once capacity is correct, use fill rate to fine-tune scheduling timing.

Generator is being scheduled too early or too late Adjust the fill rate. If the driver is finding the tank consistently less full than expected at service time, lower the fill rate. If it's consistently fuller, raise it. Once a generator has 5 or more completed services, switch to "calculated from collection data" and let the system average the actual pickups.

No due date is showing The generator is missing capacity, fill rate, or both. It won't appear on the scheduling map until both values are present. Open the service tab and fill in the missing data.

Generator no longer produces material Turn off the service toggle on the General tab. The generator record stays with its full history intact, but it drops off the map and schedule. Do not delete the record.

Generator still produces material but you've lost the customer Make a note in the Location Notes field (e.g., "Lost — [date]") and then turn off the service toggle. This preserves context so anyone looking at the record later can tell the difference between "not a generator anymore" and "we lost this customer's business."

Things to avoid

  • Don't break a single tank into multiple generator records. Use total capacity.
  • Don't delete generator records. Use the service toggle to deactivate instead.
  • Don't give an offload facility a capacity. It's a destination, not a tank.
