How Do I Configure Depots?

How to Manage Depots in Route Simplified

The Depots Pane—located under the Assets tab—lets you define locations where material is processed, stored, or disposed. A Depot serves as the final destination on any route.

📍 What is a Depot?

In Route Simplified, a depot acts as the last stop on a route. It’s where collected material is delivered, unloaded, or stored. Every route must conclude at a designated depot, so setting these up accurately is critical for route-building and reporting.

How to Add a New Depot

To register a new operational site:

  1. Click “Add Depot.”

  2. Enter the required fields:

    • Name – A short, descriptive name (e.g., Main Facility, Dump Station).

    • Address – The full physical address of the depot.

Tip: Be consistent with naming conventions to avoid confusion (e.g., use city names or role-based labels).

      3. Click Save to confirm and create the depot.

✏️ How to Edit Depot Information

To update an existing depot:

  1. Click on the depot name from the list.

  2. Edit the Name or Address as needed.

⚠️ Reminder: Always click Save after making changes to ensure they are applied.

🧠 Important Notes

  • A depot is mandatory for every route—it will always act as the final stop.

  • Depots are used for route planning, user assignments, and reporting metrics.

  • Ensure addresses are accurate to support mapping and route optimization features.
