Field Tips and Reminders

A quick-reference list of things to keep in mind when running a route.

Follow the stop order shown. The route is already optimized for truck routing. Running it as ordered saves miles and time.

Start the route when you start your day. The Start Route timestamp matters — it sets the official start time for the route. Don't tap it the night before or when the email first arrives.

Keep location permission on. If your phone loses location access mid-route, navigation won't work and progress tracking stops. If you turned it off accidentally, re-enable it in your phone's Settings → Safari (or your default browser) → Location.

Add a comment to every skip. A short note gives your scheduler the context to help you — whether that's fixing an access issue, adjusting scheduling, or updating generator data.

If you find a new customer location in the field: Don't try to add it in the app — the field app isn't set up for adding new generators. Note the name and address and pass it to your scheduler. They'll create the record in the desktop app and add it to an upcoming route.

If the capacity shown looks wrong at a stop: Update it when you complete the stop. You'll see a capacity field on the completion screen. Fixing it in the field means the next service will be scheduled based on real data.

Bookmark your route link. Add it to your home screen so you don't have to search your email every time you need to get back into the app.
