Starting Your Route

When and how to start your route in the Route Simplified app.

When to start

Tap Start Route when you're ready to begin your day — not when the email first arrives. The timestamp of when you tap Start becomes the official start time for the route in the system.

Location permission

The first time you start a route, your phone will ask for permission to use your location. Tap Allow.

Route Simplified uses your location to track your progress through the day and provide turn-by-turn navigation from your current position.

If you're using Safari on iPhone, choose "Allow While Using App" or "Always". If you previously denied location access, re-enable it in Settings → Safari → Location.

What you see after starting

Once started, the app shows your route for the day: your stop list in order and a map view. A summary bar at the top shows total gallons, estimated time, and miles for the full route.
